An introduction

#1 Post by Eleassa » Sat Jun 26, 2010 11:39 pm

Since it looks like I'll be here to stay, I thought I would introduce myself.

I am a 30 year old woman from a small village in Maine, USA. I am a licensed veterinary technician, and a volunteer with my local fire/rescue department. Right now I am learning to drive the ambulance, and hopefully soon will be taking classes to become an EMT.

And that leads to why I'm writing this. I can, and do, get called away at a moment's notice when a rescue call goes out. There is no way to predict when an emergency happens, or what it will involve. When my department gets toned, I will have to leave. When seconds count, there is no time to emote a departure. I will, however, send a quick @say saying that a call has gone out, and I need to leave.

So I am apologizing ahead of time for all the times I will have to leave in such a manner. (Oh, and for my sudden departure earlier tonight when I got toned)

No, you didn't scare me off. I was having some trouble that night with the different commands. Hopefully next time won't be so lame.

It is good to have you here, many of us are much the same way, we have full-time jobs and many times are called away for one thing or another. I hope you have fun while you are able to be at the computer in the game :)

As long as you attack those who you think are AFK... ;-)

I think a lot of us have a similiar situation. Well, maybe not saving lives and stuff.. but going on a call/work and other things that need attention. Most people just skillfully ignore someone who is AFK. So you should feel comfortable here :-)

Oh, I won't just go AFK when I get toned. I'll be logging out. I might be gone 10 minutes (call gets cancelled) or many hours (longest run so far was 5 hours)
