assisted in a 2 1/2 hour cranial cruciate ligament repair surgery. In humans its known as the anterior cruciate ligament.

The oddest thing was, the vet's 4 year old granddaughter wanted to watch, and didn't look grossed out at all when she watched through the window between the employee lounge and the operating room.

Today I responded to my first accidental gunshot trauma of the hunting season. So as a friendly reminder to all you hunters out there, PLEASE remember to practice gun safety.

this is me wielding a replica of a scythian horse-bow. dreamy... i'd sure like to become proficient enough to shoot from horseback, but then i'd need a horse.

Nice Tylluan. In December/January, I'm going to be part of a research study where we shoot at goat carcasses. Looking forward to it.

ps andy - why are you shooting goat carcasses? what is it that you'll be researching?

Tonight I've been sitting by the door for the past hour, in costume, with a large bowl of candy, and I've only had one trick-or-treater show up so far.

Awww, that's sad. You should have gone outside and chase after those miscreants and turn them into frogs and also steal their candy! That'd teach them to respect the traditions!

And to cheer you up... trick or treat comic strip!

Today I assisted in a cryptorchid neuter, a spay with a hernia repair tossed in, a routine spay, and a routine neuter; got bit by a patient; renewed my right to complain about the government (I went to go vote); and fire-department training got cancelled, because we had a real fire to work on. I came in at the tail end, after the fire was out, but there was still clean-up to do, and every set of hands makes it go that much faster.

So yeah, its been a long day.

How true .. If you do not vote, you have no legal base for complaining. :) Most people that do not vote complain anyway though. *g*

Got my first set of letters from my sorority sisters so I've graduated from pledge to little sister

Savory? I don't think I've ever heard anyone exclaim that. Are you just being ironic, or is that common where you live?

It's almost as if you said "rad", "gnarly", or "tubular"...
