Absence

#1 Post by Andreati » Fri Oct 03, 2008 9:41 pm

Hi All.

I just wanted to say that I'll be gone until November, at the earliest. Various things, such as back-injuries and house work, have come up.

See you all then, and have fun!

Yo,

I ought to be back in a couple of days. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to play at a time though--I've got a protrusion in a disc in my back that makes it uncomfortable to sit/stand in the same position, making typing difficult.

Until then...

Did you get back surgery? My poor cousin developed a herniated disk and had surgery done to correct it... Then surgery done to correct that surgery. Now she has the disks fused with a metal rod. I feel so sorry for the poor girl. She is only 23... I do not think she even needed surgery in the first place, but she is an opiate drug addict and chases after all kinds of surgeries in order to support her habit. When I last hugged her, it felt like hugging a skeleton. Her cheeks are sunken in, her voice trails off with weakness with each sentence, and her eyes sometimes roll back with a combination of boredom, despair, and the subtle pleasant numbness of OxyContin or Methadone or whatever the latest prescription is. She doesn't eat regularly. I fear she will be dead before she is 35. It's hard to get her to eat protein, too, because she is a Vegan with a wheat allergy.

I've had good experiences with chiropractics, and my father, who has a history of back problems, swears by it.

I think Andy should wear leathers when she returns so that she doesn't keep falling over in the heavy clanging gear that could hurt her back again!

Will be nice to see you back Andy and hope you continue to make progress.

No surgery, luckily, at least...not yet. I'm no less of a stick than I used to be, in fact--I think that I'm gaining weight due to lack of exercise, even though I'm not eating nearly as much. They've got me taking a heavy anti-inflamatory, as well as codine, which I hear is really morphine in disguise...The codine doesn't work particularly well.

Triska--A corset is surprisingly comfortable in this situation ;)

I'll just hijack this thread for now as I see little point starting a new on break/absence thread.

So here it goes...

Due to immense tiredness in the face of dreadfully dark winter hours, boring RL stuff and etc. I'll only be erratically online as some might have noticed. This will continue until...erm...until I'm in the mood again for some serious nerdiness with my computer. Delia will be reachable via mudmail, given some maintenance "jobs" Delia has I have to login that much atleast :?

Hope to see you all when I see you!

I'm going to hijack this thread by saying that I will be gone for a week. A sub-tropical island off the coast of Africa is awaiting me. If you need to get in touch with me, send me a mudmail, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Righto then,

Just so you all know in advance, I'll be gone in a week from tomorrow (Monday the...15th), all the way until August...10th.Ish. I might be able to get on (occasionally), but I won't have much time, and I would only be dealing with the crap that always pops up when I disappear. Monday June 15 --> August 10thish.

You all have fun while I'm gone, and I might see you before I leave,

I also will be traveling from 10th June to 14th July. Will be in Indiana USA and a few days up at Niagara Falls.

I will be getting online evenings and other odd times but just not around so much as normal.

Be good everyone!!

Each year the wizards gather together in their secret lair at about this time. I heard rumours that they are planning to unveil a new pay-to-play mud called Wonder Pets, loosely based on the TV show for toddlers.

No, but seriously, that is a good question Lum that I don't know the answer to.

I'll be away travelling Europe and stuff for two weeks starting from 8.8. I might chance a peek around for news and gossip but that could be it. So don't count on me to be around. See you all later though.

I have returned from the middle of nowhere, I smell like livestock, and most of my clothes (particularly my socks) are brown (with dirt).

So yep, here I am world.

Cheers,
