ghost of Aragog looks southwestdown.
You are physically slightly hurt and mentally slightly degraded.
You are extremely alert.
>nu
You start to climb up.
You travel a long distance northup.
You nearly got half the way up to the peaks but you know in comparison to
climbing one of the summit the way up to here was just a nice walk. Proudly
you look back on the way you made up to here. A bit higher mist arises and
hinders your sight.
To the northeast someone has carved stairs into the mountain slope, leading
up to the very top of this mountain, On a buff over the stairs is a round
tower, guarding the stairs and the junction here.
There are three obvious exits: northdown, northeastup, southdown.
A corpse of Aragog, a corpse of a bow-legged childlike male dwarf, a crude
longsword and a steel arrow.
> Old, very slight and very bloody tracks of a human leading southdown, coming f
rom northeastup.
A steel arrow hits your right foot, slightly wounding you!
Your wounds start to bleed.
You deflect a steel arrow with your boneshield.
A steel arrow hits your left foot, but does no damage.

longsword and three steel arrows.
>x corpse
This is the dead body of a bow-legged childlike male dwarf.
The corpse contains:
A black belt, a black leather shirt, two gemmed golden rings, a left leather
boot, a left leather gauntlet, a magical bo-staff, a padded tunic, a pair of
black leather trousers, a right leather boot, a right leather gauntlet and a
white silk robe.
>x 2. corpse
This is the dead body of Aragog.
The corpse contains:
Some steel arrows.
>x 3. corpse
You either can't see any '3. corpse', or it is of no importance.
>A steel arrow hits your left leg, severely wounding you!
You loose all feeling in your left leg as the a steel arrow peirces
through your left leg.
The force of the hit makes you stumble, you loose your balance and
fall to the ground.

A steel arrow hits your left foot, critically wounding you!
As the a steel arrow drills into your left foot it leaves an
awfully bleeding, grisly wound.

A steel arrow hits your right foot, hurting you!
You become unconscious.

But you are unconscious.
>You died. You can see your dead body from above.
You shouldn't test your luck by removing HIS Holy Symbol.
Your ghost state allows you to travel 'start'.

We mastered the martial arts and started trying our hands at a little Ranger archery to the side.

Lesson for rangers:

Stop messing around with backstab and master your bows, you'll be able to crit Jezz twice even shooting from another room! :D

.oO(If that doesn't motivate them to use bows, I don't know what will)

Good news - I found a 'cure disease' for the Crusade-Virus that had us in its claws yesterday

Bah! It is not as easy as it looks. Even as a "master" with missile, I have only hit one player (bigger than an orc) with an arrow (elven arrow). That was a big tshahark, probably an easy target ;)

Those steel arrows look nice though. Are they available to all, or do we have to kill some Shaolin to get them?

I know I shouldn't wonder but...did it never occur to you to ask for this cure disease instead of thinking about going for Shaolin? Must be one of the symptoms of the virus...

Stop messing around with backstab and master your bows
From what I take it, there were really only 3 of us seriously using backstab. The rest were suggesting interesting ideas like being able to shoot 2 arrows at once.... :!:

I mean, seriously, check the log. From another room they critted me 2 times and with only a slight hit at my right foot they brought me "not feeling very well". You don't need to shoot two arrows if you can do what they did to jezz shooting only one.

Hence the exclamation point.

The really incredible part is the fact that they were so successful despite Jezz's shield. Where can I get some of those steel arrows?

*sigh* See, that's what happens. You show them how powerful they could be and they just ignore you ;)

I am quite surprised if the bows are really that powerful, I mean Delia had archery at around 80 at somepoint and it was REALLY hard to seriously damage or even to hit anything with elven bow + elven arrows. Guess something must have changed since then. Good for the Shao Temple atleast, to know that the bum-lazy archers aren't paid for nothing ;)

And if bows did that...imagine what a group of crossbows could do...
