Darkelven raids

If it's no bug or an idea, but it's still MUD-related, it goes here.

Slowly being back, I'll see what we can do ;)

Alright, let me explain. Like the insect attacks, the darkelf ones are started automatically and their numbers depend on the number of people who are member of the attacked guild and who are online. There will never be a massive attack if only one or two members are around and there's also a random element to the numbers so if you're unlucky there can be a whole lot of darkelves. So yes, 19 darkelves in four waves is nasty, but at least it's less than it could be insects... ;) On the other hand, I admit that it might be overkill for some guilds, and thus I'll lower the maximum amount for large attacks.

The main point, though, is that those darkelf raids could be prevented by the players. Delia already mentioned it in an earlier post.

I am willing to lend mine arm to the staunching of this dark tide.

I feel that the darkelves are quite more intelligent than the insects.

I just hear the insects going "derp derp derp" as they stand underneath a watchtower getting picked off.

Insects can talk? Wouldn't they just sort of.. I don't know, screech? Or rub their legs together?

In my opinion, the darkelves are a lot more pain to deal with than the insects.

Satho-Insects must have at least some sort of intelligence because they know where they are heading to!
Best race: halflings.

They can't even get that right most of the time. Sometimes they'll stop under a watchtower and derp, sometimes one or two will just wander around aimlessly.

Sometimes 40 of them will gather in one area. And form a giant cluster while all derping in unison. A hivemind.

It would be a perfect research project for the scribes. Write a book about the insects, their origins, their intelligence.

In a way they could be regarded as a "substitute" for demons (if otherwordly, and tagged to Sathonys only)
Best race: halflings.
