Wargloves

If it's no bug or an idea, but it's still MUD-related, it goes here.

Wargloves

What's with these things? I'm having a hard time imagining one.

And why are they basically required for hand to hand combat? Without them you are basically the worst punching person ever.

I guess they could look like katar, but then how would you shock poke with a giant blade on your hand?

I imagine them to be more like gloves, which have small thorns coming out of where the knuckle region is to cause bloodloss. Which wouldnt interfere with your grip on a blade, but would cause a vicious backhand.

Oh so something like this..

Except metal and not plastic. Still seems like it would be pretty difficult to do complex hand maneuvers with those.

I don't see how it would be hard to do complex hand maneuvers. Most dont use the back of your hand for anything and are palm/fist related.

The odd thing about them is you can split skulls with them on. Food for thought.

I've always thought that the spikes were on the sides, so that if you did a backhand, james bond/austin powers "judo" chop, you'd get the most out of them. But that's just me. It's been a while since I read the description carefully.

+ damage
- protection
only thrusts

Yes these things are more or less mandatory unless you want to use weapons. If you use weapons the wargloves are quite useless. A regular shao against a decent opponent(and yes, even Delia if you are going to ask)cannot do proper unarmed damage against full leathers, or atleast it is quite hard.

One advanced shao-thingy will make you choose between the wargloves and regular gloves though. Weapons or not.

At least the "punch" special isn't affected by them or so it seems...which is weird.

I go back praying for katars now
