New Area - Derring

If it's no bug or an idea, but it's still MUD-related, it goes here.

Briefly explored this morning, I think it looks very cool and is much bigger than even I expected. Thanks for the hard work. Now us players have to put hard work into reporting typoes

Currently reporting as I go. Seems like a large place and slightly confusing at first. Not saying that is a bad thing :)

My only grievance so far has been the changes around the pear tree west from the nibbler hut as one cannot no longer enter the Underground, foothills and the Giat from there but that can very well be me reacting badly to change :)

It most likely wont be an issue, but the narrowing of the main road to only a north and south exit and nothing else is a bit...dangerous.

Yes...perfect places for two giant undeads and a giant revenant.

I'd hope the current sathonites would recognize how unfair doing something like that would be to every other player in the game....

Though when I was a sathonite thats exactly what I would have done, sorry for being a dick back then

The road to underground is now bit north. but may be we add new entrance to the Giat mountains at wet of the Arborea forest.
On should a patrol like before and should be road clean.
Beside there other ways to the north, too.

You're right. As a player you shouldnt have to worry about whether or not what you are doing is making the game more enjoyable for others or if it is unfair to the rest of the players. Thanks for pointing that out.

I think it would be good to add a route to the Giat from the pear tree as the change did inconvenience shao masters somewhat. I'll have to map the new areas before I can come up with any ideas to suggest. There was this ancient Giat ideas thread though, perhaps some good stuff can be found there?

I haven't had time to scour the new map for Denma's hut, since I am now back at school. (Yay, *almost* recovered from illnesseses thingie.) I tended make my way there from the pear tree, though.

So did I... didn't have a chance to explore the new area yet, but I expect I'll get so lost again...

A joint ranger/scribe operation to properly map the areas? The grand atlas requires some updating now ;)

I noticed the signs say waldschrat are aggressive, but they do not attack on sight.

The sign says
They are not harmless and may attack you!
Depending on the situation they may attack you.

They definitely attacked poor Isen, who had to kill 5 in a row without a rest! :P
