Remove "jewels" from game

If it's no bug or an idea, but it's still MUD-related, it goes here.

Remove "jewels" from game

#1 Post by Naga » Tue Sep 06, 2005 6:09 am

One thing I have never understood is the presence of both "gems" and "jewels" in the game. The Oxford English Dictionary defines "jewel" as "A precious stone, a gem; esp. one worn as an ornament." The system for gems is considerably more complex, with analysis for the identification of specific gemstones, whereas jewels are simply described by color. The presence of two names and systems for the exact same thing (precious stones), with one inferior by far, is pointless and reflects poorly on the game.

I don't see it as pointless. If you find a jewel, you know you've DONE something. :P
If a squirrel is chasing you, drop your nuts and run.
