What's light?

I prefer the hungarian version, but something tells me you might enjoy the english one a bit better.

And.. that is for breakfast..

Yes, when my mother said "Don't you dare to drink and post!", I should have listened. Alas, now I'm hungover and feeling very sorry for myself.

I don't usually listen to classical music (Not because I don't like it but because I have a hard time keeping my attention on instrumental music if I'm not playing it myself) but that's a very beautiful piece especially that rise and fall in intensity towards the latter end of it.

And to jump on the tail end of the music thread :D

I'm a music nut. I have a collection of original albums boasting items such as Frampton comes alive, Physical Graffti, Bad (I wanna trade it for Thriller) and Tougher Than Leather as well as newer stuff I pick up like The White Stripes. I saw further back people mentioned pandora, to which I throw out Grooveshark.com It's like pandora for when you want a particular song.

That's a fairly long list still, Damanta.

Props on Rodrigo y Gabriela, one of my favs.

I almost exclusively listen to classical or instrumental non-classical music. Don't much like lyrics for whatever reason.

Ludovico Einaudi (composer)
Philip Glass (composer)
Preston Reed (guitar)
Kaki King (guitar)
Craig D'Andrea (guitar)
Andy McKee (guitar)
Alex Degrassi (guitar)
Micheal Hedges (guitar)
Russian Circles (instrumental progressive rock?)
Yann Tiersen (composer)
Old crap like Bach, Brahms...newer like Ravel, Stravinski, Rachmaninoff
Kronos Quartet (ehhh quartet)
Astor Piazzola!! (modern tango with serving of win)
Bear McCreary (battlestar galactica (new) composer)

To name a few.

For one thing, you don't have to worry about liking the lyrics too.

A trick is to listen to songs in languages you don't understand.

Yeah, that crossed my mind after the post.

One of my guilty pleasures is J-Pop for that reason.

Its more than twice as long in reality, I like pretty much everything, as for Jpop as you mentioned I've always like the pillows.

Arabic and Turkish music is pretty good for that. The music is cool, and the words just sound...weird.Tarkan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ew2o0DnXpCI), has cool music. His dancing in that video scares me though.

Recently I've been listening to lots of musica en español--my colleagues down there called my music crap, so I gave theirs a chance. The punk and metalish stuff are actually pretty cool.

Soda Stereo, Attaque 77, Heroes del Silencio, to name a couple. My best friend listened to J-Pop...drove me crazy, especially when she centered parties around it...

I listen to Jpop when I'm in certain moods, a party mood is not one of them, I think I'd want to punch someone in the face by the end of said party.

When I'm in the mood for some entertainment, I ask my two-year-old daughter to sing songs for me. She is learning lots of new words at her age, and she can do a pretty good job of repeating a song back to me if she hears it a few times.

It doesn't appear to matter which language the song is in, so she will sing anything from "Itsy Bitsy Spider" to 800-year-old Catholic hymns, leading to conversations like this with random strangers:

"That's really cute, but what song is that?"
"Oh, it's Pange Lingua. She's singing in Latin."

I wish my daughter was smart. Oh wait I don't have a daughter.

*blinks a wee bit* Not the sort of song and dance I was expecting when I came back to this thread

And Damanta, Your list..results in an insufficient data error based on just the stuff I know we both like Such as Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Jedi Mind Tricks Your obession with John Mayer and I *cannot* believe you mentioned Queen but not Bowie....

But then again that's the reason I didn't make a long list I'd be typing for daaaaays and daaaaays.

Shot in the dark but anyone listen to black/symphonic metal?
