Rain and storms outside
Am I the only one who thinks it's strange that people walk around in extreme rain and snow storms, just going about their business? Personally, I think it's pretty bad roleplay for anyone except hardened warriors to do that.

I'd consider that ok for rangers and druids as well. After all, rangers are used to rough outside conditions and for druids it is just another facette of mother nature.

Is there a command to check the weather?
EDIT: I found it, in case other were wondering it's "check weather". There is also a helpfile on "weather".

Maybe as an idea, but a check for the players constitution in certain weather and if it is below the cap the player will start to get hurt (Much too hot for a heat wave or much too cold in a blizzard), feel more tired, light headed, unable to recover etc etc.
Might encourage tent usage! ^5

I agree - the system could enforce it more. Right now you are almost not "punished" for it. Why are people not standing out in the rain? They get wet, uncomfortable and risk catching a cold - which IMHO could be considered dangeruos given a "medieval" state of medical art.
- Introduce a "coldness" disease ?
- More energy would be used to keep warm, so you should get hungrier faster..
Of course you also need to consider the effect of noone wanting to go out.. The storms should be probably not come all the time. It's bad if it makes people too likely to sit around at home..

Au contraire, I think people being 'forced' inside could really enhance RP. If there's a bunch of people in a bar then there's a good opportunity for fun roleplaying.

As long as tents offer some protection, then those would finally make REAL sense!

As long as Luminier suffers no ill effects because he is a mythical badass who fights in rain snow or sleet (just like mailmen) Ill be happy.

Actually I mean that, but there is a limit for everything. You know, if it gets extreme in some way..isengoo wrote:Au contraire, I think people being 'forced' inside could really enhance RP. If there's a bunch of people in a bar then there's a good opportunity for fun roleplaying.

Weeell, I RP Skragna staying outside unless it's a blizzard or wintery, he's made of slightly sterner stuff than most races, being a tshahark. I imagine dwarves wouls be even more able.

Actually, tshaharks are rather vulnerable to cold weather. They slow down significantly.

Yes, hence the inside-ness during winter or a blizzard. Rainstorms, thunderstorms, and heat waves never affected my pet iguana, and I don't see how much different a tshahark is...
