Who have you been back then and why did you stop?I'm sad. Geas looks like a decent mud (and I seem to remember having fun here 10 years or so ago)
You need to keep in mind that some characters are purposely avoiding others for one reason or the other. How large was your sample of other characters who ignored you completely and did you try to initiate any roleplay actively?
Best race: halflings.

I personally, OOCly LOVE interacting with new players to the mud.
And even just new Characters that might be an alt.
My character, however, is sometimes busy. He doesn't mind talking to new people....and as I player I _usually_ make a point to wait around a few moments before I nod politely then be on my way. However, most of the time..especially more recently, (for IG reasons)...it's not terribly in-character for Lachtli to just start up a conversation with some random person. So he'll tarry, wash his face, drink some water, then if there's no sign of like (someone's afk or something, which is understandable), I'm outta there for the moment.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, sometimes you have to be extremely patient to really get some good RP with certain chars. You have to love them up a little bit first to get them to go dere on you.

Having something to say helps. I know that can be hard if you're new or don't know a whole lot about the game yet, but... well...

If you(you in the general sense) just stand there with a polite nod/ignore me when I stop in your room to chat, I'm not going to ramble on forever (though I can ramble pretty good if you have a topic I know anything about). It's got to be a two-way street for RP.It is better though than the people who enter a room with someone in it and just totally ignore that person.
