Generic praise thread

If it's no bug or an idea, but it's still MUD-related, it goes here.

Generic praise thread

#1 Post by Olrane » Wed May 27, 2015 9:59 pm

I just want to say that I'm so well pleased with everything that the Wizards and the community has done to grow the game since I last played actively. I'm very impressed by Derring and the new hills area between Arborea and Elvandar.

The "recap" command and the statusinfo toggle have hugely increased my enjoyment of playing. It's these little things that we love you for.

I'm really looking forward to growing my character and carving a new story out. See you all in game!

All the little fixes and updates haven't gone unnoticed! The new "numb limbs" outputs and stuff like fixing the handling of herb mixtures are welcome things.

Also thanks to the wiz who went in and pushed through the customs backlog!

I had a few really great scenes lately and I keep noticing more and more development getting done (Turian and the rest of the wizzes - you rock).

I feel excited right now to play, and I hope that the "cast" of characters can broaden and fill out even more in the coming days and weeks so that more fun scenes and plots can unfold!

I have to second that. Also, I would like to thank the implementation of the new board at Smidel's shop and to everyone making it work. Because of the demand of books, now my tanner has a job other than making tents like silly. It's a pleasure to roleplay this way.

Literally, last night when I saw this, I said that I would feel old as dirt were it not for characters that I think are old as dirt. Naming you, specifically.

Yes, thank youl! This mechanic incentivates not only exploring but also sense of character and roleplay. Very grateful, Wizardry.

While an increase to a stat would be nice, some of the other still unavailable options come off as too good to pass up for some character builds.

Increased mana regen for mages. I am really curious about how it will turn out as it will mean less time spent constantly meditating <3

Yeah. From a Skald perspective, there is seriously nothing more attractive than increased mana regen. I'm likely to double up on it.

It is planned to implement all abilities from help file with the time. It is only the problem to find fitting task to get them.

For abilities what happens if you are a Taniel follower and use quick restore but eventually switch to a different religion? Do you lose that ability?

You will only get the ability then you are follower of Taniel, Evren or Gwen, then you use the current way.
But you will not loose it, then you change your deity.
For some ability will be several ways to archive them. For different deities and may be some with visible mutation.

A big thanks for the new areas! I am having fun exploring :) Also finally some use for 'swim' and 'dive' skills. Could be more of these eventually ;)

I am quite interested in the new throwing changes. Having that throwing 100 might start to pay off now :)

I come again to thank Turian for the new 'mailnick' feature. Contacting newbies now will be much easier and I'll be able to kickstart my ambitious merchant roleplay.

I have been playing muds for over 20 years now and have tried my hand at geas on several different occasions. I must say I am very impressed with all the hard work that the players and wizards do to improve this mud constantly. I know alot of times credit and appreciation are far and few but I just wanted to say thank you and you truly make the experience of playing here fun and interesting.
