I'll be gone for a little while (likely till next monday), on a buisness trip to Scotland and likely not having time to peek in. Enjoy your time.

Scotland - nice! Have fun, I hope you'll have the time (and the weather) for a little bit of sight-seeing as well!glorfindel wrote:I'll be gone for a little while (likely till next monday), on a buisness trip to Scotland and likely not having time to peek in. Enjoy your time.

Re: Absence
I will be gone most of the week, most likely, for the next 6 months or so. Will be on a buisnessness assignment in Hamburg and my internet access will depend on the availability and rates of internet access in the hotel.
On the weekends I will probably be around, but not as frequent as before I fear.

If you can't access the mud on port 23 try it on 3333. I've found 23 blocked on some public routers but 3333 seemed fine.

Re: Absence
I actually should rather title this 'limited availability'.
Currently here at work stuff's really boiling hot. We're tight pressed on Schedule to reach some deadline and therefore the levels of pure exhaustion are quite high. As a result, my time and energy I find playing geas is sadly greatly reduced, as the limit of focus I can still find within myself a rather low. Therefore I'll continue not to be as active as I used to be for the comming three to four weeks. After that I'll be back as usually, or nearly as much.
I'll still be dealing with any guild related stuff and try to be active enough for any other concerns, I write this merely as a precaution to inform those who might wonder where I've disappeared to.
Enjoy

I will also be away for an extended period of time because of various reasons. I'm not really sure about if/when I'll returning, but I still read forum PM's if you need to get in touch. Take care

Well, it seems that now, at school again, port 23 and 3333 are not functioning. No Geas for me in some months. Quite a shame XD

Re: Absence
I've been stuck in the kitchen for week and a half now and I do not see it ending soon. All those mushrooms, vegetables, berries and fruits need to be processed for further consumption. Also, as the mushroom season is still on...well...the forest beckons. Yesterday I spent four hours crushing cherry seeds alone. What can I say? Autumn rocks! I'll pop in from time to time to read any mail and etc but now I'll resume my cherry liquor project.

I'll be gone again for a week or so, being on an extended vacation trip
I'll hopefully return more regularily after that, as things at work seem to cool down a bit.

Re: Absence
Obviously school admins that either noticed unusual traffic on that port or know that it can be abused for non-educational activities.

Re: Absence
We really should convince the admins to open port 80 (on an alternate IP) or 449 for such clearly scholar activities

Re: Absence
Hey guys,
I am returning to geas. The never-ending cycle of me coming back has started again. Anyways some cool news. I belong to an engineering fraternity and some people have expressed interest in the game. Three of them so far. So there will be some true noobs roaming about pretty soon. I am going to help them out and I know you all will too!!
Thanks,
poMalleus
P.S. For some reason I couldn't make a new thread so i am piggy backing

Re: Absence
Hey folks,
Right, I'm grabbing the chance to announce the fact I'll likely be absent for a while, how long? Haven't a clue, here's why:
My PC mobo and or CPU has fried, so my main computer no longer works until I can afford a replacement, on top of that, my laptop was recently dropped which has caused major damage to the hard drive...so that doesn't work either.
Everything in my house is breaking this month
My phone still works and thankfully has web access, but I can't mud from it. I'm trying to cobble some semblance of a working system together, but honestly, it might not happen until I can afford to replace the damaged components
Before my computers broke, the TV died, so I replaced that and now I'm too poor to replace my bits of PC
So yes...my life sucks in every conceivable technological way. Karma seems to think I recently kicked a nun to death or something ~_~

Re: Absence
poDrayn, YES, thats precisely the trick! Every admin _will_ allow connections to port 80, we just would have to offer it on an alternate ip... (449 is secure http, by the way.)Drayn wrote:port 80 is the HTML web portNathan wrote:We really should convince the admins to open port 80 (on an alternate IP) or 449 for such clearly scholar activities:)
It's likely already open. 449 is used for active server stuff I think.
Our poor, currently blocked players could then connect to the mud using <alternateIP>:<port 80>, and nearly nobody could block them, because the admin would think the user uses http ... got it?
