Also it doesn't only strike the tallest thing, nor does it only strike once, it's just rare for it to happen otherwise.

Lightning is attracted to the earth by positive charge emitted by things on the ground. Practically everything emits a positive charge, somethings more than others, metals let of especially strong ones, dirt and grass not so much. Oak trees give off quite a strong charge, hence why taking cover under a tree is unwise. Pointy things also focus the charge making streams more likely, hence steeples getting the brunt too.

Anyhoo, the charge streaks more or less upwards and settles in little wells of charge in the air, until the charge reaches a certain point and then it'll fork of in a slightly different direction, hence the jagged appearance of fork lightning.

The negative charge of the atmosphere does the same thing only downwards. Once a positive stream connects with a negative one it completes a circuit and the atmospheric charge discharges into the earth. Tall things tend to get struck first because they've got the head start. It's not beyond the realms of posibility for charged streams to cross over and merge, hence multi pronged forks in lightning strikes :)

Skragna's been standing, with the dragonlance, and watched a resting Tanriel get blasted by lighting. Twice.

You declare in Magik: My predecessor on the throne - a far less popular
person, to say the least, once decided to 'test' someone's guilt by smiting
her with the royal sceptre...
You declare in Magik: If she bruised, she was guilty.
You roll your eyes in exasperation.
Lachtli[male human] remarks evenly in Magik: A wise ruler.
Lachtli[male human] smirks.
You declare in Magik: 'Twas certainly an effective procedure for
ascertaining his own ideas through less subjective means.
Lachtli chuckles.
Lachtli[male human] remarks evenly in Magik: How dare he subject his
subjects to such subjective subjugations.
You declare in Magik: Said subject subjected his subjects to such subjective
subjugations as such was his sincerest attempt at suceeding in imposing his
subjectives onto his subjects.
You nod slightly.
Lachtli[male human] remarks evenly in Magik: Indeed.
Lachtli[male human] nods solemnly.

Typical day ._.

You ask Calessa in Boreal: Volemak
Calessa says in Boreal: Oh, our local outfitter Moron.
Calessa[female human] says in Common: To find him is easy, he is
straight west the Golden Dragon Inn.

She meant to say "Volemak" of course, but I like that her bad Boreal made her say "moron" instead
By the way, since Calessa is the outfitter now, maybe that should be changed - would be cool if the NPCs started gossiping about what happened to Volemak instead.

Hopefully not ruining the surely great suspense regarding stuff...

*IN THE DRAGON*
You sit down on the twelveth chair.
Nathan[male human] sits down on the eleventh chair.
Nathan[male human] smiles at you.
Nathan[male human] mentions in Quenya: legs ..majesty ... are most
important
Nathan[male human] nods wildly.
You emote: Zehren tilts his head, listening, smiling with curiosity.
You ask in Quenya: Ah?
Nathan[male human] tells you in Quenya: The longer they are, the
better, until a certain degree of course ...
Nathan[male human] tells you in Quenya: The legs of spiders, just to
mention an example, are way too long.
Nathan[male human] nods to you.
You nod thoughtfully.
Nathan[male human] tells you in Quenya: Goblin legs are too short
mostly, so the perfect length is somehwere in between.
You declare in Quenya: So the longer the legs are, the better - unless they
grow extra joints?
Nathan[male human] grins at you.
Nathan[male human] tells you in Quenya: Yes, I would say so.

Lachtli[male human] remarks evenly in Boreal: I hope you found a good
human candidate, as I still refuse the idea of your using some mental image
of me in the book as it.
You declare in Magik: Oh, yes.
You declare in Magik: Judge Nathan will be the human male.
Nathan[male human] walks in from up.
Lachtli[male human] remarks evenly in Boreal: Ah, an excellent
specimen.
You declare in Magik: Indeed.
Nathan[male human] smiles.
Nathan[male human] walks out south.
Lachtli[male human] remarks evenly in Boreal: Speak of the specimen and
he will appear.
Lachtli[male human] remarks evenly in Boreal: Then disappear.

Fun moment... getting the gang back together

You say deeply and quietly in Common: Tri-axe assemble.
You wield the axe in your right hand and left hand.
Skragna draws his long twohanded axe from the sheath of his wide leather
belt (with one sheath attached to it).
Luminia wields an axe in her right hand and left hand.

Ewelyn[female human,T] curtseys to you.

Thick clouds and heavy raindrops make this night uncomfortable. A
strong wind blows from the west.

Dark clouds seem to touch the ground. Streaks of lightning uncomfortably
strike down at all sides!

Suddenly Ewelyn[female human,T] is hit by a lightning bolt!

You do not cursey to glorfindel, you bow :P Dunno why but the timing was just amazing ;)

You hear a voice speaking in your mind, telling you "Never fully trust an

You hear a voice speaking in your mind, telling you "Never fully trust an

Thanks Taniel I got it.
***moments later***
Suddenly, you find yourself in a lush evergreen forest. You spot a
brilliant flash of light between some trees in the distance and out of
nowhere, a hooded elf appears. He removes his hood and softly whispers: 'I
have a message from Cecil for you, it says:'
Never fully trust an outsider.
There's another flash of light as the vision fades away.
You hear a voice speaking in your mind, telling you "Never fully trust an
outsider."

GOD DAMMIT.
