I gave 20 flu shots and then assisted in two pediatric surgeries. Woot. =p

And just like it came, it went without a whisper in the night.

Today I had to wake up early to attend a meeting with a bunch of pre-graduate interns, and that's gonna get me grumpy for the whole day. Someone forgot to tell all these students that the number one reason you get into the gaming industry is to wake up late every day!

I want to get into the gaming industry. In fact, I hope to point to my MUDding credentials as something for a touch of extra credit.

Not quite. I'm a licensed veterinary nurse.

Today I am very stiff and sore... Last night was training night with the local volunteer fire/rescue squad I'm a member of. It was ladder training. So they had me put on some fire 'turn out' gear, and practice climbing ladders. That stuff is HEAVY. I don't think I'd be able to physically handle joining the fire side of the department. I'll stick to running with the ambulance.

Maybe if the weight loss continues and I get down to my goal weight, I'll be able to handle it. So far I've lost 15 pounds since the end of May. Just 75 more to go...

today i started reading The Hunger Games http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hunger_Games. though it's a young adult novel, it's still a very engaging and well written story. i'm only about a quarter of the way into it and already i recommend it. it's the kind of story MUDers will enjoy.

Don't worry. I hardly ever leave the house. And I'm antisocial when met in person.

The last couple of days I've been out with friends geocaching, the main reason I haven't been on Geas. We've only found two cache sites so far, but we're not giving up! Yesterday we hiked for 45 minutes only to not find anything (except for a twisted knee and scraped knuckles on my part). We're not even sure we were in the right area. >.>
I was still an enjoyable hike, though, so no complaints.

Except when you get stuck up on a mountain with no compass or way to tell direction at night. And an angry girlfriend. >.>

Real men get lost and make their own road.

I know, right? But my friend was all like "no, we're lost, I'm calling the cops." I enjoyed the hike, though. Wanna go back again soon. Almost found that treasure! :P

This is how that phone call went.

POLICE: "Hello this is 911, what is your emergency?"
poKaseo's "friend": "Uh, ya we're lost - WE WERE GEOCACHING!"
POLICE: "What? Geocaching?..... I LOVE GEOCACHING!"

Holy crap, how'd you know?!

So now nobody wants to go geocaching with us anymore. Maybe we should invest in a walking GPS...

And today I sat inside all day because the stupid rain prevents me from safely geocaching.

Today I... wish I had a camera with me on my way to work this morning. Coming up over the mountain I could see the sunlight reflecting off the top of the fog gathered over the lake below. The sun had just fully come over the horizon.

Oh, and that geo-caching bit reminds me of a tee-shirt I saw, and wish I had bought. It had the following printed over the 'star of life':

Search and Rescue - Hide and Seek for Grownups.
