Hmm I was always under the impression that backstab did darken your karma? On ganon when i first begun backstabbing, i would backstab and then have to kill undeads to keep it neutral. That is odd then,

If it does not effect karma, and only effects reputation and what other PC's think about you, then there should be no problem..

So it is spoken from the mouth of the wizards that it doesn't affect karma.

I have no issues with backstab.

Just because wizards say it does not effect karma. does not mean its not evil
The interpretation will most likely be left to the clerics, just because code does not support its evilness, doesnt mean it wont be roleplayed that way

Ah, Ganon, I didn't say it wasn't evil. What bothered me was the inevitability of blown cover if one used backstab because it would affect karma.

If one is smart, reputation can be worked around. And it's supposed to be that way. It's very important to be able to play a two-faced conniving bastard.
