Has anyone recently tried to find the Temple of Zhakrin?

I was helping a relative new comer to find it and after several hours we had to give up on not only him taking faith as a neutral follower of Zhakrin but also of completing any of the numerous quests that are to be done and solved there.

An experienced player joined us and spent nearly an hour looking too.

I think its a bit stupid that here is a Deity and no signpost or label on the map to help people find that temple which explains why there are not many of his followers since most would give up.

We tried in game to find it with no success at all.

It always seemed odd to me that it is where it is. You pretty much have to know exactly what you are looking for (as well as the corresponding syntax) to find it.

It's actually quite easy to find if you use the resources available, but if you don't bother to read descriptions you won't get very far.

Hint: use the map and the 'examine' command.

Well, as someone once pointed out on this forum........Zhakrin is the god of secrets

He gets involved so little in the world, maybe he doesn't want his followers to know where his temple is, eh?

Hard or not hard to find, it really shouldn't matter. Anyone who wants to follow Zhakrin will interact with just about anyone, and its a good adventure trying to find it if you don't know where it is. It encourages socializing and a great dwarven adventure......

I have been to his temple serveral times but this time I could not find the room description that fitted.

It is also not on any map that I know of .

I walked the area for a long long time and so did the other player 'a dwarf' who joined to help and also gave up.

I dont post here for the good of my health but when I have a genuine need for help.

Maybe you could ask the NPC dwarves where the temple is, and they may direct you? For a beer and something else maybe?

It's meant to be a puzzle. Try asking NPCs near where you got the map.

direct answer, and all the help she'd need with it.

If you know the general area it's found in, there should be a pretty distinct keyword (or entire phrase/sentence) that marks the correct room. Unless it's been changed again.

It hasnt been changed or moved or anything i was just there today. It's still intact, and thor is still alive.

I mean the keyword or phrase, not the temple itself.

There are some hints to be found in the underground, one of them indicates a person you can ask about the temple. The person, which is a likely one to ask anyway, will give you a rough idea where it is located. It's up to you to search for the exact spot and way to enter after that. You can look for tracks leading somewhere non-obvious, too.
I like the way it is, the temple can be found alright -- just not by looking for obvious doors and exits.

The problem is not where to find the temple, but to find out the correct syntax to get in .. and this a completely and totally and boringly OOC and even OOG thing .. just a fight against the game engine.
And this SUCKS !

This is very much like the kitty quest in Arborea, but taken to extreme .. in Arborea, you have to follow Bellas advice litterally, yet that command does not work anywhere else AFAIK.

In Underground, things are even worse, as there is no instruction to follow literally, or I havn't found it.

PS: Oh, and if someone thinks I haven't found the temple .. here's my hint: you can actually see it, because there's a bug in the engine that tell's you it's there with a certain command - you simply can't enter it ..

PPS: I wonder how many of you who say "there's no problem with that" in fact got the syntax told by some other player, and did not figure it out themselves ...

I wanted to check on that bug, but I didn't see a report about it. When you find a bug, please make a bug report. Abusing bugs for IG-gain is a violation of the player rules.

I communed to you, and to all, but all that happened was that Abh appeared for 0,3s and vanished again ... .
I didn't do a report at that point because I have 3 open reports and .. no more details on the forum

Please make a report any time you find a bug in the game. We can't always fix things immediately, but the reports let us know when there is a problem. Reports also contain additional behind-the-scenes information that can help us find and fix bugs.

Having found the temple of Zhakrins can anyone tell me why halflings cannot get through the gate but a human can.

I went there with Nyst and we knocked and was told nothing happened

I went there with Arogarn a human and he knocked in the same way it opened. We went in and I knocked and it let me out. I knocked and again the message was nothing happened.

Can anyone offer any insite into why ?

Triska--It has nothing to do with your race, why the gate opens/does not open. I believe it also depends on your religion, or at least your karma? Something has to be balanced.

Zhakrin doesn't open his gate for people he's extremely displeased with.
