I found looking for the temple to be a nice challenge. And I have found it on my own alright, as a newbie, don't know, in an hour maybe. Easier to get in there than Elor.
Also, I found the syntax to be pretty straight forward, really (that thing with the kitten IS annoying, though).
Once you know what you're looking for, drawing a map is a great help. Personally, I tend to get lost in Giat every single time on the way to the Gwen temple, if I don't use my map
