Emote use: Improving my roleplay

Hi. Some of you may have noticed that my character is using a lot more of emotes recently. I'm still trying to get a hang of it as I'm firmly cultivated in an lpmud background with all those handy emotion commands. But I wondered if any of you had any thoughts, do you think it adds to the game/atmosphere or do you feel like interacting with my character is like a slow, self-indulgent, crawl? ...Or?

Any feedback welcome. : }

Emotes are great. Detailed emotes are better. Problem being; people think you are ignoring them when you are typing out a detailed emote.

Best to be quick. Most of Luminier's emotes are aliased actually.

I have to say I really like the feature of being able to add adverbs to the available emotes, so you can "smile happily" or "glare evilly" or "hug so-and-so excitedly." It adds great variety and specifics to how you do something without having to type much. The only problem is I don't remember what all adverbs are available in the moment so I sometimes end up typing out my own emote anyway or just using the few adverbs that I do know. :)

I say keep it up!

For me as a player, once I know a person usually does emotes in conversations I assume that emoting is happening if their response is slightly slower, so I usually don't think I'm being ignored.

It's something I try to incorporate now and then in my play as well. I'd definitely like to see more from myself and other players as well, since it can add flavor to the character, especially manual emoting, that otherwise might not be visible.

I believe some adverbs may be missing from the list ('help adverbs'). Don't remember which ones right now. :/

Perhaps we could write these down somewhere so they may be considered for inclusion.

It would be easier for a wizard to access them.

Didn't somebody make a list for adverbs?

I think one adverb I was hoping for was "indifferently." Mm... "inquisitively," "deviously"...
