Silver armours vs. Steel armours
I've already asked a wizard to look into it, and they will in time, but in the mean time does anyone happen to know the difference between steel and silver custom armours? Unfortunately everyone goes for mithril and don't see alot of these around so I dont know anything about them.
I'm guessing silver is somewhat lighter, yet still more protective than iron?
While steel is heavier and more protective than silver?

Steel
About or equal to the protectiveness as mithril
Much heavier than mithril
A large quantity of iron to be made.
Silver
Less protective than steel, more than iron. (EDIT, less protective than iron!)
Lighter than steel but still heavy and not lighter than mithril

Also, I found silver weapons to be a little bit easy to break, not sure about armours though.
My custom made silver dagger needs some repair after five or six orcs (down to fine condition / touched by battle). With a iron/steel dagger I've never had that problem.

I actually recieved reply from wizard.
It appears that silver is more for status/looks, in that it is even worse of a material than iron is. Not functional for combat!

I think weapon breakage checks for multiple things, material vs material being only one. Parrying an axe wielded with both hands should leave some marks behind.
Then again, I've used silver only occasionally but you can get mithril bent up pretty easily as well if you do not watch what and where you hit.

Re: Silver armours vs. Steel armours
Pretty much thought that should be the case. Usually all functional gear were given a fancy silver finish if status was to be implied. During the Roman times that is, or so I have understood.

Silver has a reported in-game use against certain types of NPC's.
Whether this is true or not, Wizzies alone prolly know.
Find it out
Or just use OOC common sense and think... Why would you stab something with a blade made of silver?
