What does writing complexity do aside from affecting the minimum skill level required to read a book sensibly?

Does a learning book written at a higher complexity allow one to train to a higher skill level?

I've always thought writing complexity just makes the text more unreadable for those with lower skill...and with learning books making learning more difficult if the reader's skill level is lower than the writer's. No idea how it ACTUALLY works though...

The is complexity important for learnbooks. If you use a complex style you can write down more information about a skill, as then you you use simple style. So the reader can learn more about the skills. But the reader will need a higher language and font skill to understand it.
With a simple style only the basic of a skill can be described. For more detail information the complex style is needed.
With other words with book in comples stylx you can reach higher skills (with study) as with a simple style.
