In short it talks about internet addiction and the prevalence in S. Korea and groups internet addiction with other compulsive disorder like pathological gambling or eating disorder and focuses on the central role computers and the internet can play in someone's life.
Symptoms of internet addiction include:
Preoccupation with the internet
The inability to perform normal tasks in everyday life
Losing control over yourself
The disruption of daily routines and lifestyles
Feeling nervous and anxious when not online
Inability to sleep due to preoccupation with the internet
It also cites a 24-year-old, Kim Kyung-jae, who collapsed and died after playing computer games non-stop for 86 hours at an internet cafe in the south-western city of Kwangju.
